Webinar: Feb. 13, 2024 featuring Benji Eisenberg of UBC

The NBCS Pacific Chapter is pleased to announce that our 3rd webinar will be held on Tuesday, 13 February 2024 (12:00 – 1:00 PM PST) and feature Benji Eisenberg of UBC. The title of Benji’s talk will be: From Peak to Pelagic: A Holistic Approach to Coastal Adaptation, Food Sovereignty and Eco-cultural Restoration.

Benji Eisenberg is a Coastal Adaptation Design Strategist investigating how coastal adaptation can support First Nation food security traditional ecological knowledge preservation. He is primarily working on integrating those strategies into Tsleil-Waututh Nation’s Shoreline Adaptation and Visualization project. Benji has spent time living and researching in Tibet, China, Japan, and The Middle East to better understand how ecological stewardship is being affected by climate change. Benji grew up on ancestral Massa-adchu-es-et Nation territory in the winding estuaries of coastal Massachusetts, USA digging for clams and tapping sugar maples.
